Swimming Lessons

Jameson has been taking swimming lessons throughout the month of September. SO much fun!! The goal of the lessons at this age is to get them acclimated to the water, learn how to get in and out of the pool, a beginning respect of the water and 5 seconds under water with their eyes open. We are taking them at a great little place called Donna's Dolphins. This gal is a retired swimmer and has an indoor pool in her home (awesome) that is heated and you can swim year round. You don't very many pools in Colorado! Overall, it has been a GREAT experience. Here is Jameson checking things out before his first lesson...lots of TOYS!! Mama and Jameson in the pool. He loves the water...it's like a big bathtub!! Jameson learning to KICK, KICK, KICK!! He is loving every minute of it!! This is a video of one of the fun little games we play with all the kids in the water...the hokey pokey!

This is a video of us learning "eyes under" and the scoop underwater so he doesn't get water in his nose. On his first day he did great with it, I think he was thinking that I was accidentally dunking him! On the second day, he was not happy with the concept of "under water diving" AT ALL!! We had to resort to the binky!! On the third day, he did GREAT!! He was diving into the water before I was ready, literally, I spent the whole lesson catching him underwater and pulling him up! He was constantly tucking his chin into his chest and diving in the water!! Tomorrow is our last class and we can't wait to see what happens next. he may just be the next Michael Phelps (only cuter)!!
