The Virus

This week he has been sick, really for the first time ever! He has run a temp around 102ish Monday-Thursday. He has been like all children who can't understand why they are hurting-wanting mama ALL the time, not eating, drinking surprisingly well though, crying, whining, crying, whining, etc... Thursday night his temp spiked 104.5 and I nearly died! We're all about letting his little body have ample opportunity to ward off and fight infection naturally so as to build his immune system more efficiently, but I thought we were going to have to go to the ER! We managed to get that temp down really quickly and visited the doc on Friday instead. No Strep, No UTI, looks viral...we just have to ride out the storm, but it looks like we're through the worst of it! This morning (Saturday) he's 85% better. Definitely developed some bad habits during the last week of being "babied" while sick! We'll (really, I'll, dada is a push over) have to get busy breaking those!
Anyway, that's the update!!

What he's doing now...

Just to update all of the "Jameson fans" out there...here is a list of what the little man has been up to lately. Of course he is ever changing, growing and learning. Some of these things he's been at for a while...

** saying: "hi dada", "hi mama", "bubba" for bubbles, "yiya" or "lila" (it's hard to tell for sure) for Delilah, "nuh nuh" for jungle, "no no Thi" while shaking his index finger at our poor clumsy dog Thibadeaux!, "ish" for fish, "ush" for brushing his teeth, "bah" for ball, "beh" for bear, "bo-bo" for, well, bo-bo...Boudreaux just had surgery and we've been talking a lot about bo-bo's
** holding up one finger when asked, "How old is Jameson?"
**holding tissue to his nose to "blow"
** he is enrolled with mama in a "Music Pups" class at Gym 4 Tykes, learning all about different instruments, rhythms, sounds, etc...it's really fun for him
** he is 100% walking, and has been for about 4 weeks, almost refusing to crawl at all anymore
** signing "more" and "milk"
** drinking goat's milk only, no more nursing with mama! We're both still getting used to this!
** he has been saying "hot" for quite a while, but now he makes an 'o' shape with his little mouth afterwards, as if he is blowing the hot food :)
** he LOVES to be outside, and especially to swing
** received his first haircut (ok, trim) from mom on Augusst 14th. (Really I just snipped off a few little long hairs that were out of place, but cried nonetheless).
** LOVES to brush his teeth!!
** endlessly shakes his head no at dada, both of them finding great humor in this newfound skill!
**can successfully navigate stairs (up and down), climbing down off of bed, couch recliner, whatever!

He's been a busy boy, growing and learning more and more every day. We are having so much fun experiencing all that raising a young boy has to offer!!

Some fun stuff...

So, after my birthday in Arkansas I got to hang out at Granny and Papaw's cabin until time for the Grady Family Reunion (that's my Granny's family, going way back). Here is me with my Great Uncle Dwight and Great Aunt Brenda. This is the first time that I got to meet them EVER!

This is me back home hangin' out on the back deck...how cute am I??? (mama wrote that part...how embarassing!)

I really like playing with my new John Deere ATV that I got for my birthday. It's super cool. It even plays music.

This is the cool table and chairs that Grandma Jean and Papaw Derwood got me for my birthday. Mama put it on the back deck, just for me!

I love my new swing set that Nanna Beaux and Poppy got for me!! I love to slide!

Cousin Jake always has food...I like him a lot. This is my first experience with a Pop-Tart! Mama has sure been holding out on me!! This is GREAT!!

Birthday party Part II

Jameson had a birthday party in Arkansas at Papaw and Granny's "Cross Creek Cabin". Many of our family and friends were able to be there. We had a great fish fry and lots of fun.
