Hot Tub Hunk

For Mother's Day weekend, John Davis and I spent a good amount of time in our hot tub while Jameson was napping. When he woke, he got to come out to play for a little while. It was his first time in the hot tub. He probably thought it was a big bathtub, outside, and we were in it with him! Again, I'll probably get turned in for this...but the temp was 101 in the water (only 1 degree warmer than his bath water), it was a nice overcast day-not too cool, and he had on sunscreen, a sun-protection shirt, and a hat and sunglasses most of the time. No sunburn today, so we did good. He was also only sitting in the water from the waist down for most of the time and he had his juice close by...no dehydration risk. He had a great time! He definitely takes after his dada...my little water baby!!

A Newborn's Conversation with God

I received this in a forward this week...what a beautiful Mother's Day sentiment...

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy." God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?" God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?" God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad becase I will not see you anymore." God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, "You will simply call her, 'Mom'."

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!!

Happy Mother's Day

This was my first "real" Mother's Day, although I feel like last year was worth celebrating too as I was 7 months pregnant. These are the roses that my loves got for me...the green one represents Jameson.

This is Jameson's church outfit today.

We played outside and had a relaxing day to celebrate! It was a gorgeous Colorado day.

Happy Anniversary in Keystone

John Davis and I spent last weekend in Keystone celebrating our 5 year Anniversary. Well, it was kinda a celebration-with a 9 month old and 2 goldens! It was a VERY eventful weekend...
Here are some piks and "the rest of the story" is told in detail at the bottom of this entry. ENJOY!!!!! Jameson had his first Shrimp Adventure at Bubba Gump's. I know, I know, I'll probably get turned in for giving the kid shrimp at this age! But he has CAJUN blood...it's part of life :)

And he LOVES it!!!

We are going for a walk with the whole fam! Boudreaux and Thibadeaux love to be on their leashes! Jameson loves...
taking a nap in his carrier on dad's back! (While enjoying the breathtaking views of course)

What a LOVE!! And yes he has on sunscreen :)
Us in Breckenridge-it's mud season so all is quiet on the western front!
A great time for "us locals" to get in some mountain air without the
chaos of the huge population of winter sports nuts all around.

His future's so bright...he's gotta wear shades!!!

We sat outside for lunch- we had a fire pit next to us, but it was still a little chilly
Thank goodness Jameson had his $9 GAP snow suit we found on sale in Louisiana-
(at this point everyone there is outside boiling shrimp-not worried about the cold!)
He was able to stay nice and toasty!
He had chicken strips (minus the breading that mama pulled off) and
blue jello for the first time. Jello- HE LOVES!!!

Boudreaux decided that it wasn't fair to leave him and Thibadeaux in the condo while we went out to dinner Friday night. So after about 15 minutes at the restaurant we got a call from a very nice lady who had 2 beautiful goldens with her who were playing in the parking lot of her condo!! "But take your time at dinner, they'll be fine with me until you get back", she says. So we immediately left the restaurant and got back to find that Boudreaux had let Thibadeaux out of his crate, moved the crate away from the front door and then opened the front door and let the 2 of them out to play while mom and dad were away!! And he didn't close the door behind them, so our condo was left wide open, AUGH!!

So John Davis left to get take out for us for dinner, and while I'm changing Jameson's diaper, they do it again. Houdini and his sidekick open the front door and head outside to the sounds of friendly voices near the highway! So there's me running barefoot through the parking lot with baby on my hip, yelling at the 2 dogs (I swear someday this scene will end up on candid camera or you tube). Boudreaux knew he was in trouble, staying a steady pace just about 10 feet in front of me. Thibadeaux on the other hand...well...anyone want a golden pup??? He had no idea what was going on! He was simply following the sound of love in some gal's voice.

Then Boudreaux was hyper-sensitive to the noises outside the condo all night. He would bark and Jameson would then cry-this happened over and over for quite a while throughout the night. John Davis ended up sleeping on the couch in the living room so that Boudreaux would stay out there with him and not keep barking and waking up Jameson. It was quite an interesting night for us all.

So we ended up having to kennel them for Saturday and that night, simply so we could get out as a family (the humans part of our fam) and enjoy a beautiful weekend in Breckenridge and Keystone, and have a full night's sleep on our anniversary! It was sad, but necessary. Better that than to be worried about your dogs getting lost or run over!! Next year we're going to Mexico!!......ALONE!!!
